Carlo Redl is Japanese-Canadian musician currently based in London. At 4 years old, his dad put a nylon guitar in his hands, and he began playing classical music. As he moved from Tokyo to Singapore, California, Miami, and so on, he immersed himself in pretty much any genre he could find (rock, blues, funk, R&B, jazz, folk, pop, etc.), infusing them in his guitar playing.

His first year in the music industry was spent in studios as a session guitarist, where he was known for his versatility across genres. After laying down guitars, he would hum toplines, and producers around him subsequently urged him to become an artist/songwriter. Soon after, at 20 years old, he solidified himself as a RIA(J)-certified platinum songwriter/producer, and released his own music as a signed artist.

He later built an online following (@carlo.redl) through guitar and vocal videos. Though he was primarily an electric guitar player, the ease of picking up an acoustic and filming videos led him to explore both instruments equally. Today, his sound moves between neo-soul and indie-pop fingerstyle acoustic guitar, and grunge-inflected R&B textures of a Bass VI strung with baritone strings - both styles which have shaped his own Buttr packs.
